SUMMARY:11/2 Walk with Us at North Omaha Transit Center
DESCRIPTION:Join us at North Omaha Transit Center for an autumn Walk with Us event. We’ll be looking critically at the safety and connectivity along Ames\, with a particular focus on pedestrian routes to and from North High School and the North Omaha Trail. We should have daylight on our side for the hourlong walk\, but please dress for the weather! Signs will be available.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWhy here and now? Here are a couple of reasons: \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nThis segment of Ames is in the Priority High Injury Network (HIN) identified by Omaha’s Vision Zero plan. Within the Priority HIN\, crashes involving fatal and severe injuries are over 9x more likely to occur.\n\n\n\nThere are multiple schools within walking distance of NOTC. Students have always been power users of transit\, and this is especially true since Metro Transit introduced its K12 Rides Free program.  But do kids have safe walking routes to and from transit?
