The City of Omaha will hold a public scoping meeting to gather public input for the S-Curve Area Connectivity Project:
Date: Thursday, November 29, 2012
Time: 6:00-8:00 pm; Presentation at 6:15 pm
Location: Mutual of Omaha Auditorium
3301 Dodge Street, Omaha, NE
Please park and enter on the West side of the building
Project representatives will be available to answer questions regarding the need for the project, potential solutions, and existing environmental resources in the Project study area. Solutions for the area were developed using public input obtained from previous meetings held during the planning process.
An Environmental Assessment (EA) is being prepared for this project by the City of Omaha, the Nebraska Department of Roads and the Federal Highway Administration. The EA is prepared to meet the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) when a project is to be federally funded.
The purpose of this project is to provide safe and efficient traffic flow on Dodge Street, the major east-west arterial for the City of Omaha, as well as improved connections between Dodge Street, Douglas Street, Park Avenue, Turner Boulevard, and 30th Street. This project is driven by the lack of northbound and southbound street connectivity in the study area and existing roadway conditions resulting from the two sharp curves which connect eastbound Dodge Street to Douglas Street.
