Citizens’ Academy for Omaha’s Future is a joint project with One Omaha, Mode Shift Omaha, Metropolitan Area Planning Agency, Douglas County Health Department, Omaha by Design, and Live Well Omaha. The Academy provides knowledge, skills, and connections that graduates can leverage to advocate for their vision of the community. Participants will also learn how different values and decisions shape the built environment of Omaha. The outcomes are improved community health, more transportation options, and greater equity.
The workshops will include topics on planning, transportation, the development process, land use, and community health. Guest speakers will emphasize when and how the public can impact the development process.
