Five Questions with . . . Kara Eastman

Kara Eastman is the President and CEO of Omaha Healthy Kids Alliance, Vice-Chair of the Metropolitan Community College Board of Governors, is married to Scott Eastman, Professor of History at Creighton, and mom to Sabina, a Junior at Central High School. 1. What is your preferred mode of transportation?
Walking

2. What, in your opinion, is the greatest challenge to multi-modal transportation in Omaha?
Political will

3. What, in your opinion, the the greatest multi-modal success in Omaha?
The Old Market

4. How did you come to have an interest in transportation?
Through my work in building healthy communitiies

5. If you could magically change one thing about the transportation systems in Omaha, without limit to budget or feasibility, what would it be?
I would create an energy efficient, public transportation system that connects north, south, and east Omaha (I might even consider adding West O)
