public hearing room for Metro fare increase - Omaha, Nebraska

At the first public hearing, turn-out was less than stunning.

The Transit Authority for the City of Omaha (Metro) is holding three public hearings this week to present their plan for a proposed fare increase beginning in 2012. Last night, November 8, was the first meeting. There is another meeting tonight, November 9, at 6:15 p.m. The location of the meeting is the South Omaha Library. A final hearing will be Thursday, November 10, at  11:30 a.m. at the Peter Kiewitt Conference Room at the Nebraska State Office Building, 1313 Farnam Street, Room 218.

While ModeShift Omaha does not take a position in support or opposition to the fare increase, we do encourage everyone, whether a transit user or part of the transit-curious population, to take part in the process. Metro is requesting  feedback on the proposed fare increases. Please attend a hearing, or submit your comments to Metro by mail, or by using the comment  form at their website.
