Take Action, Transit|

The Omaha City Council is doing something AWESOME–The Council has added a resolution to the agenda for its March 6th meeting to promote a Ride the Bus to Work day on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Council members all plan to take the Metro bus to the Council meeting that day.

UPDATE: The City Council unanimously passed the resolution!

Councilman Chris Jerram is the project sponsor. He said it is a way for City Council members to encourage the public to utilize public modes of transportation as an inexpensive, convenient, and viable form of transportation in Omaha.

If you think this is as great an idea as we do, please tell your Council members AND plan to take the Metro bus to wherever you need to go on March 13th (and heck, other times of the month and year too). Let us know if you plan to join in here.

If you’re new to taking the bus, here is a guide from Metro on how to get started. Don’t forget that you can bring your bike on the bus or park and ride too.
